Abstract

Synchronous generators are considered the most important part in power generation equipment, hence protecting them is a high priority issue. This paper introduces a technique to detect and locate synchronous generators' earth fault using wavelet transform (WT) as a tool of features extraction and classification by Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System ANFIS. WT and ANFIS approaches have been illustrated using Simulink/Matlab for validation and proof of the concept.
