Abstract

Kajian ini melihat hubungan di antara efikasi kendiri dengan strategi pembangunan kerjaya. Data dikumpul menggunakan borang soal selidik yang diedarkan kepada 80 orang kakitangan sokongan di salah sebuah unit di sebuah universiti awam. Sebanyak 75 soal selidik dikembalikan untuk dianalisa. Hasil kajian mendapati tahap efikasi kendiri dan strategi pembangunan kerjaya dalam kalangan kakitangan sokongan adalah tinggi. Analisis korelasi mendapati terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan di antara efikasi kendiri dan strategi pembangunan kerja. Namun aras hubungan adalah sederhana. Ini menunjukkan bahawa pekerja yang mempunyai efikasi kendiri yang tinggi akan cenderung untuk membangunkan kerjaya mereka ke tahap yang lebih baik. Kajian ini memberi implikasi kepada organisasi untuk merancang strategi pembangunan sumber manusia bagi meningkatkan tahap efikasi kendiri pekerja.

This study investigates the relationship between self-efficacy and career development strategy. Data were obtained from questionnaires distributed among 80 support staffs at one of the unit in a public university. About 75 questionnaires were returned and analysed. The finding shows high level of self-efficacy and individual career development strategy among the support staff. Correlation analysis reveals a positive and significant relationship between self-efficacy and individual career development strategy. However, the level of the relationship is moderate. This shows that staffs with high self-efficacy will have a tendency to develop their career towards a better level. This study has implication for organization in planning for human resource development strategy to improve the level of staff self-efficacy.
