Arabic teaching and learning is no exception leveraging the use of gamification as a new strategy in the world of education. A lot of the game applications developed by the operators and usability studies conducted by the academia to ensure the Arabic language is not lagging in leveraging technology in education. The predominance of the Arabic language using gamification and its effectiveness in the acquisition of vocabulary has to be seen to gamification developed not just for personal satisfaction but to be able to pay the interest and benefit to the teacher. This pilot study aims to develop a model gamification of Arabic vocabulary. It uses a quantitative method to carry out a sampling of purposive sampling of the teachers of the Arabic language in MRSM Gemencheh who use the Arabic KSSM textbook. The findings were analyzed using SPSS version 25 for the descriptive analysis. The results of the study found that teachers' perception towards all of the components in the acquisition of Arabic vocabulary use gamification is at a very high level. This shows teachers generally know the purpose of gamification in the TnL, in addition, agree that gamification of student’s interest and mastery of the Arabic language can be enhanced. Furthermore, teachers also strongly agreed that the acquisition of vocabulary through gamification is one of the effective ways in the TnL. Hopefully, this study can provide benefits to the readers related to the acquisition of Arabic vocabulary using gamification.</p> Mohammad Najib Jaffar, Azman Ab. Since then, many applications have been used for online learning and one of the most popular is Google Meet. This study aimed to measure the level of understanding of GT students on the application of Microsoft Excel software in the online teaching of ANOVA topic. In addition, the study also examined the perception of GT students towards the application of MS Excel software in the teaching and learning of ANOVA topic through Google Meet. At Pusat GENIUS@Pintar Negara, UKM, the topic of ANOVA is taught to form 4 students (aged 15 and 16) who have a high level of intelligence and are identified as gifted. This study used a survey design based on an observation checklist. A total of 71 GT students were selected through a simple random sampling technique. This ANOVA topic is taught for two months through the Google Meet application. At the initial stage, students were given explanations related to the concept of the ANOVA topic and students had to complete a mini-research using MS Excel software. At the end of the study, students had to produce a poster and present all the mini research findings to the lecturer. The level of students’ understanding was measured through observation checklists for the research mini-presentation. Findings show that 60% of students have an excellent level of understanding, followed by 25% in the good category, 11% in the average category and 4% in the satisfactory category. The responses to the student perception questionnaire on the application of MS Excel software proved that 95% of students agreed with the application of MS Excel in learning improved students' understanding of concepts, motivation and achievement. Further research could be carried out on the application of MS Excel software to at an early stage so that students can apply these skills in the working world later.</p> Nurul Suzaina Joli, Azizah Mohd Zahidi, Kamarul Zaman Hamzah, Noorsyakina Simin, Fairuz Adlidna Badrol Hissam, Mohd Effendi @ Ewan Mohd Matore Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Advanced Research in Computing and Applications https://akademiabaru.com/submit/index.php/arca/article/view/5063 Fri, 22 Mar 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Validity and Reliability of a Rekatronik Module for Electronic Design in the Design and Technology (D&T) Subject https://akademiabaru.com/submit/index.php/arca/article/view/5150 <p>The aim of this study was to evaluate the Rekatronik Module's reliability and validity. Nine experts in electronics education and teaching and learning reviewed the module's content validity. A pilot study involving 30 secondary school students who participated in all activities specified in the Rekatronik Module was conducted to assess its reliability, followed by an evaluation of the students' feedback through a module reliability questionnaire. The module had good content validity with a content validity coefficient of 0.87 and excellent reliability with a module reliability coefficient of 0.90, according to the experts' consensus. The present study has demonstrated that the Rekatronik Module the Rekatronik Module, which is grounded in project-based learning (PjBL) has a high level of reliability and validity, making it suitable for use. The pilot study, which evaluated the usability of the module among the target group, contributed to the high level of reliability achieved. Additionally, experts in the field of electronic design and technology subject validated the module's content, leading to a high level of content validity. These findings have significant implications for the teaching and learning of electronic design and technology, and the Rekatronik Module can serve as a valuable resource for educators and students in this field.</p> Muhammad Ridzuan Idris, Ridzwan Che’ Rus Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Advanced Research in Computing and Applications https://akademiabaru.com/submit/index.php/arca/article/view/5150 Fri, 22 Mar 2024 00:00:00 +0000
