Abstract

An investigation has been conducted to study the steady stagnation point flow and heat transfer in a porous medium caused by an exponentially stretching/shrinking sheet. Using a similarity transformation, the governing system of partial differential equations are transformed into a system of ordinary differential equations. The system of ordinary differential equations is then solved numerically using a shooting method in Maple software. The effect of the governing parameters on the skin friction coefficients and the local Nusselt numbers as well as the velocity and temperature profiles are analysed and discussed. Results obtain in this study are illustrated graphically. The range of parameter ???? where the similarity solution exists for the steady stagnation point over an exponentially shrinking sheet in porous medium is larger than linear shrinking sheet.
