Critical Success Factors on the BCM Implementation in SMEs

Every company is susceptible to disasters, such as earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, system malfunctions and computer viruses which occur regularly throughout the world and most of the time, without we even know when it is going to happen. In relation, tens of thousands of organization of all sizes were affected by these disasters, unless organisations prepared in advance. Business Continuity Management (BCM) is the management processes that ensure the resilience of an organization in the face of a range of business disruptions in which evolved from Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP.) This paper exhibits the outcomes of a study in identifying and analysing the relationship of critical success factor (CSFs) in the implementation of BCM in small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). Thus, by using key terms distinguished in a preliminary literature review, a summation of 302 articles were reviewed while in a sequential series of literature review, 101 articles were selected for the final compilation. In this paper, it is found that the study on the CSFs for BCM implementation in SMEs has not been done yet, together with the study on CSFs for BCM implementation.
